I could hear them screaming
as the bulkheads began
to unfasten

where is God when the masses
are thrown out to salt shake
for your own
past mistakes?

But hey –
the telephone bill is cheaper
and by this time next year,
we’ll all be rich or dead
and thank Christ for that.

I’m too tired to wait for either;
these commercial breaks take too long
man.
